The Lonely Mansion RP

"No sir." She said sheepishly and slowly reached a hesitant hand out for the biscuit. She seemed scared, like at any time Iiam would reveal it was a trick and beat her for her impertinence. But no beating came as her hand picked up the biscuit and quickly brought it back to her.

"Not at all sir." She said in response to his appology. "Your well being is my main concern. The Elder Master told me to take utmost care of the Young Master." She said as she broke off a small piece of the biscuit and nibbled on it. She never once brought her eyes to meet Iiam's.

Iiam smiled, "I'll need your help later on." he told her.
"My wellbeing huh?" he thought for a moment. "Right now...my well being depends on how well I learn to keep this place up. That was stupid of my father to make me learn this way." he complained, but he knew his father was right.
"I'm not going to hit you...you can stop shaking...Lillian."

Lillian seemed to jump when he spoke her name. She didn't remember telling him her name...how had he known it? She was too scared to look at him, and did not neccessarily believe his claims of non violence.

"W-well, you can count on me to help in whatever capacity I can." She stuttered, trying to blandly continue the subject and not preoccupy herself with the name thing as she munched on the biscuit.

"Do you mind that I call you that name? I don't know your real name...but Lillian suits you." he said obliviously.
Iiam had eaten half his bowl of stew and waited until Lilian was finished with her biscuit.
Outside, the wind was howling around the sides of the large house. It billowed and buffeted the windows.

"I would like that." She said quietly, a small smile on her lips, though it quickly disapeared and the howling wind filled the conversation. It seemed to take forever for her to finish her biscuit, but when she had she brushed the crumbs into a napkin and stood. "I am finished. Thank you very much." She bowed her head.

"I should go stoke the fires...it seems it will be chilly tonight." She said, allowing herself to speak out just a little bit.

"I'm not done." he said looking at her face. "You're not done either. Sit back down." he told her.
The wind calmed down, but it could still be heard through out the house.

Lillian seemed concerned, but obediantley she sat quietly back down, her hands still nervously fiddling with her apron.

Iiam made her close her eyes and open her mouth. When she did he placed his spoon in her mouth and made her eat. "You need to eat something better than bread and water. You look like you could waste away." he laughed.
Soon, lightning began to strike and the rains came.

Lillian protested, but seeing that her arguing would get her no where she allowed him to give her the rest of his stew. She jumped like a scared kitten when the first flash of lightning lit up the sky. "Um, I really must go about and close the windows." She proposed as she again rose. Because it was getting so dark candles would need to be lit now.

Iiam stood after they had finnished and went with her to help.
In a short time they had closed all the open windows and doors. Iiam was panting at the end of the race. He desided to take a bath sooner than he'd hoped.
Iiam had finished washing himself, but was having trouble washing his back, since he didn't have arms like a monkey, he hollered for Lillian's help. He knew she would be shy, and he would enjoy turning her face into a rose as she blushed.
"This is what I spoke of when I said I'd need your help." he told her from inside the wash room.

Lillian did indeed blush a bright red when the young master called her into the wash room. She came into the bathroom carrying a candle lamp. She had to concentrate to avert her eyes, for it wasn't proper for her to see him in such a fashion. "As you wish." She said in her same cold fashion as she took a wash cloth and gently began to scrub the muscles of his back.

Iiam enjoyed her washing. Most times he'd had a butler do it, "And he was rough about it." Iiam thought.
"You're very good!" he complimented her, "Maybe...I should get you to bathe me all the time." he joked and laughed.

"I would prefer not...but if it is my master's wish I must obey." Lillian said with a slightly embaressed look upon her face.

"I'm only joking, Lillian." he assured her. "However...it does sound like fun!" he laughed heartilly.
After she had left he got out, rinced off, and put a towel arround himself. He walked to his room and slipped into a silk shirt and shorts.
He wondered what Lillian would be wearing to bed...and where she even slept at all.
He snuck arround the house untill he found her.

Lillian was stocking the fire in the young master's bed room. Earlier in the day she had dusted and cleaned the long unused room. Now she was turning back the covers of his bed, letting warmth from the fire seep into the bedding. She then lit the candle holders in the room with her candle lantern and proceeded to leave the room when the sudden appearance of Iiam startled her and she almost dropped her candle. "Can I help you?" She asked, her voice rattled and shaken, for she had been quite frightened.

"You're skittish!" he said with a smile on his face. "I was just wondering...where do you sleep? I've never seen the servant's quarters before." he almost insisted that she show him.

Lillian averted her eyes and blushed as he mentioned her frightfulness. "It is nothing to concern yourself with sir, I am well taken care of, I assure you." She said, her voice coming across unusually strong as she politely refused to show him to her quarters.

"The hour is late and the morn to come sooner than we think." She said, finally bringing her eyes to look at his in the candle light. Her eyes were big and green, with a hint of circles beneath them, far to much for a young lady. Her eyes were sad and misty, but sincere and honest. "I bid you good night." She quickly broke eye contact with him and curtsied to make her exit.

Iiam stopped her. "You...look worn out. I may not know much about people, but i know that any female that is well taken care of doesn't have lines under her eyes." he insisted.
Iiam felt a strange. He normally didn't like doing things for other's, but he felt compelled to know everything about her. "Stay with me." he smiled.

"I...I really shouldn't. It isn't proper." She protested, trying to back out of the room, shaking her head.

Iiam laughed. "Not in the same bed, Lillian." he practicly pushed her into his bed. "I'll sleep in my father's bed." he said forcefully. He left her to stay in his room.

Lillian sat dazed on the bed for quite some time. The fire in the hearth crackled and slowly died, the wind howled outside. Finally after she was sure he had gone away and fallen asleep, for it was now the middle of the night she rose, blowing out the candles in the room, and walked down the long, lonely corridors, lighted by lightning, to the servants quarters.

As she undressed into her simple night gown she could not believe the audacity of the new master...he had no sense of etiquette...servants were there to do one's bidding...they were not spoken to, they did not speak. They were just there. She felt numbed and oddly shaken by his interest in her. Perhaps it was because she was the only one there...maybe he was friendly with everyone?

They would learn in a month or so when the regular staff were told to return. Lillian blew out the candle of her lamp, and rubbing her hands together she climbed into her cold and lumpy bed with faded quilting.

Iiam hadn't actually gone to sleep. He lay awake in his fathers bed. "Why am I being so nice to her?" he thought, "I'm never this nice to anyone...not even my father."
Iiam's head started to hurt afer a while. He desided to let it go for the night and sleep. He heard light steps slip passed the door. He knew she wasn't exactly the kind of servant to be sociable. "Maybe that's what father wanted?" he wondered.

The sun arose and Iiam lay in his father's bed. The fall sun warmed his sheets. He wanted to lay there for the remainder of the morning, but the sun beat down on his eyes. "Ugh, fine! I'll get up." he groaned.

"When you have awaken breakfast is prepared for you." Came a quiet voice from behind the door.

Lillian had already been up for quite some time, busy with her cleaning of the large place and making breakfast.

Iiam threw his blankets off himself exposing his stomack which would have stuck out if he were not so thin.
Iiam joined Lillian in the kitchen for breakfast. He insisted they eat in there and even forced her to eat a portion of his meal.
Iiam looked around his mansion for something, when he saw Lillian cleaning from acrossed the halls he desided to try it himself. He wasn't very good, but he found that while he cleaned his mind wandered all around his memories.
He then began thinking about how to make his only servant more personable. "Maybe..." he thought, "All she needs is for me to keep talking to her. I'd rather her talk WITH me though."

Lillian went about her droll day, dusting here, moping that, washing this, arranging things in order. Finally it was sometime in the noon hour when she looked up and stared out the window for a considerable amount of time, forgetting that there was another in her pressence. She allowed a small sigh of her shoulders as she stared out at the colorful trees crying their leaves to the autumn winds.
